Ly Son island district officially has the national power grid

 - On Sep 28 morning , 2014, at Ly Son Island district (Quang Ngai province), Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee held an Inauguration Ceremony of the project supplying Ly Son Island district with electricity from the national power system by the submarine cable. The Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung attended and spoke at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed,  the power project from the national power system to Ly Son Island district by submarine cable has a very important mean in socio-economic development, people's standard of living improvement in island and contribution to protection of the waters sovereignty of the country as well.

The Prime Minister noted and highly appreciated the efforts of the ministries, EVN, Central Power  Corporation, local authorities and contractors on mobilizing and concentrating all the sources for project implementation with an exceeding schedule. The Prime Minister hoped, the party committee, administration and people of Quang Ngai province will continue to bring into play the achievements, effectively use power supply from the project in the cause of construction  and development of the island district and firmly defending the national sovereignty.

According to the design, the maximal transmission capacity of Ly Son power supply project reaches up to 16.5 MVA with a  total investment of VND 678.7 billion (including VND 652.5 billion for submarine cable and VND 26.2 billion for upgrading existing power grid on the island). The investment amount consists of  8,746 meters of 22kV overhead lines on Binh Son district mainland, 26,219 meters of 22kV submarine cable, 7.4 kilometers of 22kV and 8.5 kilometers of 0.4 kV overhead lines and 15 transformer substations with a total capacity of 3,330kVA on Ly Son island.

At the Inauguration Ceremony, Electricity of Vietnam awarded Ly Son District People's Committee VND 4 billion for building a primary school on the island district.   VietnamEenergy.vn
