Science-technology application enhanced for Mekong Delta development

The PM made that statement at a meeting held on March 7 in Can Tho City on the implementation of policies and laws on science and technology to enhance industrialization and modernization in the 2005-2015 period and development orientations in the new period, including the enhancement of the auxiliary industry and mechanics in the Mekong Delta.
He highly praised achievements of the Mekong Delta in coping with difficulties and challenges caused by climate change, sea level rise and saltwater intrusion to make contribution to the national development.
He proposed specialists and scientists strengthen research works, especially applying science into reality as well as amend and complete policies and laws related to science and technology management and enhancement.
At the meeting, delegates listened and discussed the report on the role of science and technology in accelerating industrialization and modernization in the Mekong Delta in the 2005-2015 phase, the report on issuance and implementation of policies and laws on science and technology and the report on the implementation of the State-level science technology program for the Southwest region development.
