EVN summarized the 'miracle' of the third circuit 500kV line (from Quang Binh to Hung Yen)

The conference was attended by Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang; leaders of ministries, and agencies; leaders of provinces and cities; representatives of consulting units, supervisors, construction contractors, and forces participating in the third 500 kV power transmission line project.

In addition to the direct point at the Hanoi Electricity of Vietnam in Hanoi, the conference was connected online to the bridge points of 9 provinces and cities where the line passes through (Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh) and the bridge points of 63 power companies nationwide.

The third circuit 500 kV power transmission line project, (Quang Trach - Pho Noi) was assigned by EVN to the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) as the investor, with a total length of 519 km, 1,177 pole locations, 513 anchorages, passing through 211 communes/wards of 43 districts in 9 provinces, with a total investment of more than 22,300 billion VND.

Chairman of EVN Dang Hoang An reviewed the project implementation process (from investment preparation, approval of investment policy, selection of contractors for more than 200 packages, conversion of forest use purposes and temporary construction roads through forests, site clearance, all of which were faster than other projects that have been carried out before.

The project is not only for EVN and EVNNPT but also for the whole system. Viettel, PVN, and VNPT corporations sent 12 teams, with nearly 250 people participating in erecting the poles. Vietnam Railway Corporation promptly transported nearly 1,000 containers of imported materials and equipment to hand over to construction units. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its embassies in Russia, China, and India, supported the import of equipment from foreign contractors. The General Department of Customs supported the fastest possible customs clearance for imported materials and equipment to reach the construction site..

At the conference, on behalf of the 9 provinces participating in the project, the leaderships of Ha Tinh and Thanh Hoa with high determinate when participating in free space helped people to unload the houses, construct new houses in Ha Tinh is region with the longest line and though territorial difficult of asset, conversion of forest use purposes and temporary construction roads through forests, site clearance, all of which were faster than other projects that have been carried out before.

At the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged that when the project started, someone directly told the Prime Minister that "It cannot be done in 6 months". But with the determination of "Nothing is impossible", "Only discuss, do not discuss", "Overcome the sun, overcome the rain" etc., the whole system has joined in and completed the project. The success of the project has proven to investors that Vietnam is enough. Regarding site clearance, the Prime Minister himself met with the provincial party secretaries and chairmen of 9 provinces where the line passes through to give instructions on the deadline for site clearance. In some provinces, the provincial party secretary had to go to people's homes to convince them about the importance of the national key project so that they would understand and accept land transfer and compensation.

As a result, on March 8, 2024, the entire site of 1,177/1,177 column foundation positions and by June 17, 2024, the entire route corridor had been handed over to the construction units.
