GE will supply 14 wind turbines for the first stage of a wind power farm project in Western Highlands, Vietnam.
According to the contract, GE will supply 14 wind turbines for the first stage of a wind power farm project in Western Highlands, Vietnam, EPC contractor of which is Huy Hoang Company of Transportation Union.
Besides, GE and Wind Energy Solutions Limited Company HBRE (HBRE) - the investor of the project have also signed an cooperative agreement for development of the second stage of the wind power project.
Accordingly, GE will support HBRE in developing wind power project, providing maintenance and operation services and searching financial solutions ... with the aims of promoting effective investment, ensuring the progress and quality of the wind power project in Western Highlands.
Wind power project in Western Highlands the West is located at the Ea H’Leo Dist., Dak Lak province - one of the best wind energy potential areas in Vietnam, where the average wind velocity is steady and evenly distributed with 7.6 meters per second.
The installed capacity of the project in the first stage is 28MW (14x2MW) with a nearly VND 1400 billion total investment. The project expects to generate power in June 2016 with an output of over 100 million kWh per year.
After completion of 3 stages development in 2020, the total installed capacity of the project will be 120 MW and the project will become a largest wind power plant in Vietnam with a 400 million kWh per year generation, able to supply electricity for 200 thousands households.
