Inaugurating V1-3 wind power project in Ben Tre province

 - On November 28, 2021, in An Thuy commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province, Ben Tre Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company held a ceremony for inaugurating the V1-3 Ben Tre Wind Power Project (WPP). V1-3 WPP is the first wind power project put into commercial operation in Ben Tre province.

V1-3 Ben Tre WPP with a capacity of 29.4 MW and an annual generation of 104GWh invested by Ben Tre Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company with a total investment capital of over 1,500 billion VND, started for construction on April 5, 2020.

The V1-3 Ben Tre WPP includes 7 wind turbines, produced by Danish Vestas with a capacity of 4.2 MW/turbine, propellers with a length of 75 m placed on the towers with a height of 104 m, cylinder diameter of 4.4 m.

The project includes a step-up transformer substation with a capacity of 40 MVA, 110 kV double line with a length of 11.6 km passed 5 communes and Ba Tri town, and 22 kV ground cables with a length of 12 kV for connecting wind turbines with step-up transformer substation.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Ben Tre province, in the province currently there 5 WPPs of the 4 investors have been recognized in commercial operation before October 31, 2021 as Tan Hoan Cau WPP No5, V1-3 Ben Tre WPP, VPL Ben Tre WPP and Binh Dai WPP with a total capacity of 93.7 MW and 19 WPPs are being implemented.

From now to the end of 2021, it is expected that the WPPs with a total capacity of 90 MW will be completed. Thus, by the end of 2021, the development target of 150 MW of WPPs in Ben Tre province will be achieved.

Ben Tre province places a goal to achieve WPPs with a total capacity of 1.500 MW, an annual average generation of 4.5 billion kWh and a turnover of 10.000 billion VND/year by 2025.
