The rotor of the generator of Da Nhim HP Extension Project has been successfully installed

Rotor lowering ceremony of the Management Board of Da Nhim Hydropower Plant Extension Project
The aggregate of Da Nhim Hydropower Plant Extension Project includes a pelton turbine of vertical axis type and a three phase synchronous generator with a nominal capacity of 80 MW, turn-round number of 500 rpm. The rotor of the generator has a weight of 165 tons, diameter of 3.53 meters and height of 7.0 meters. Before the rotor installation, the contractor of 12.03 bidding package has completed installing turbine and stator of the generator.
Rightly after successful installing the rotor the Management Board of Da Nhim Hydropower Plant Extension Project asked the contractors to concentrate for fulfill the rest works to meet the objective of the unit test running by the end of 2018.
The existing Da Nhim Hydropower plant with a capacity of 160 MW (4x40 MW) was built in 1960. With a new unit of 80 MW, the total capacity of the Da Nhim HPP will achieve 240 MW and generation will increase for 99 million kWh.
The Da Nhim Hydropower Plant Expansion Project is values VND 1.952 billion of which 85 % funded by ODA from the Government of Japan and 15% reciprocal capital of the investor.
