10:00 | 11/02/2026
Reporter: On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, could you highlight some key achievements in EVN’s production, business and investment activities in 2025 in fulfilling the Group’s mission of ensuring safe and reliable electricity supply for socio-economic development? How do you assess the results achieved over the past year?
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan: In 2025, despite numerous difficulties and challenges, thanks to the close guidance of the Party, the Government, the Prime Minister, ministries and local authorities, together with thorough preparation and proactive efforts across the Group, EVN achieved many positive results, contributing significantly to the fulfillment of the 2021–2025 five-year plan targets.
First, EVN successfully ensured electricity supply for economic development and people’s daily life, while guaranteeing absolute power safety for major national political and commemorative events.
By the end of 2025, total installed power capacity of the national power system reached approximately 87,600 MW, ranking Vietnam second in ASEAN. Peak system load reached 54,370 MW, up 11.1% year-on-year, while total electricity generation and imports were estimated at 322.8 billion kWh. EVN coordinated closely with the National Power System Operator to dispatch power sources flexibly and ensure sufficient fuel supply for power generation.
Second, investment in power generation and grid infrastructure continued to record positive results. For the second consecutive year, EVN exceeded its investment plan, with total disbursements reaching VND 125.8 trillion, a 14.7% increase compared to 2024. Many key projects were commissioned, including the Hoa Binh Hydropower Expansion Project, the 500 kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen transmission line, and power supply projects for Con Dao Island. At the same time, EVN launched and accelerated major projects, including the Tri An Hydropower Expansion, Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower, and LNG power projects at Quang Trach.
Third, business operations and customer services achieved notable improvements. All electricity services are now provided online at Level 4 via the National Public Service Portal; electronic bill payment reached 99.7%; and power connection times continued to be shortened. EVN also prioritized rural, mountainous and island electrification, supplying electricity to more than 5,000 households and 129 remote villages in 2025, bringing the national household electrification rate to 99.85%.
Fourth, in terms of operational efficiency, EVN’s consolidated revenue in 2025 was estimated at VND 645.2 trillion, up 10.3%. Power supply reliability indicators improved further, power losses met planned targets, and the SAIDI index across the Group declined to around 230 minutes. The number of power sources and grid incidents decreased significantly compared to 2024.

Reporter: Several major transmission projects were completed on schedule despite difficult conditions. What were the key challenges and lessons learned from these successes?
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan: Key transmission projects such as the 500 kV Mon Soon (Lao PDR) – Thanh My line and the 500 kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen line were implemented under extremely challenging conditions, including mountainous terrain, complex geology, harsh weather, and large-scale site clearance requirements involving land-use conversion and environmental protection.
The success of these projects was driven primarily by strong and decisive direction from the Government and the Prime Minister, as well as close coordination among ministries and local authorities. Within EVN, we clearly defined leadership accountability, decentralized authority to project management units, and conducted frequent on-site inspections to promptly address emerging issues.
Construction was organized with high intensity and determination, applying flexible working arrangements to ensure progress, quality and safety. Importantly, strong support from local communities, together with assistance from the military, police and mass organizations, played a decisive role in completing these projects on schedule.
Reporter: Digital transformation is one of EVN’s major objectives. What are the key achievements and challenges in this area in 2025?
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan: EVN identified science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as a strategic breakthrough, aiming to become a modern, fully digitalized power group.
In 2025, EVN focused on three main pillars: upgrading IT systems in line with new administrative models; strengthening data connectivity with national databases and e-government platforms; and expanding digital infrastructure to remote areas. Core foundational databases have largely been completed.
EVN also promoted research and innovation activities, approving and accepting numerous Group-level and grassroots-level projects and initiatives. We successfully organized the National Power Science and Technology Conference and Techshow 2025, and actively participated in international forums, including IEEE conferences.
As a result, EVN was officially rated “Level 4” in digital transformation, achieving 81.89% of the total score and generating estimated annual cost savings of over VND 3 trillion, ranking first among major state-owned groups.
Reporter: Electricity production growth in 2025 was lower than in 2024. What were the main contributing factors?
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan: Total electricity generation and imports in 2025 were estimated at 322.8 billion kWh, up 4.6% year-on-year. Although lower than the 9.94% growth in 2024, this rate is close to the average growth level of recent years and fully met electricity demand.
The slowdown was mainly due to moderated growth in commercial electricity consumption, milder weather conditions compared to 2024, increasing customer self-generation and self-consumption, and more efficient system operation. These factors reflect improvements in energy efficiency and a more sustainable electricity consumption structure, rather than any supply constraints.
Reporter: What are EVN’s key priorities and messages to employees for 2026?
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan: In 2026, EVN’s top priority remains ensuring safe, stable and reliable electricity supply for socio-economic development and people’s livelihoods.
We will focus on efficient operation of power plants, timely completion of key generation and grid projects, strengthening transmission capacity, enhancing digital transformation, improving corporate governance, and delivering better customer services. At the same time, EVN will continue streamlining its organizational structure, promoting innovation, strengthening environmental protection, and enhancing transparency and efficiency.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all EVN employees for their dedication and valuable contributions. I hope every member of the EVN family will continue to uphold our proud traditions, demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, discipline, creativity, and unity, and work together to accomplish our missions in 2026 and the years ahead./.
