Founding Vietnam Sub-committee in the Vietnam – India Joint Committee on Atomic Energy

The Sub-Committee has the function to assist the Prime Minister in coordinating the cooperation within the framework of the Joint Committee, promoting development, strengthening cooperation and implementing the Agreement between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Republic of India on cooperation to use Atomic Energy for the peaceful purpose; and in ensuring the Vietnam-India Joint Committee on atomic energy to effectively operate.
The Sub-Committee has a duty to assist the Prime Minister in monitoring, urging and organizing the coordination among relevant ministries, branches and agencies to implement the Agreement.
In addition, the Sub-committee should preside or coordinate with Indian side to organize the sessions of the Join Committee to assess implementing the cooperative contents agreed in previous session and outline the directions and measures to strengthen cooperation for the next period.
The Sub-Committee is composed of 01 Chairman as Vice Minister of Science and Technology, 01 Standing Member as Director of Vietnam Atomic Energy Institution, 01 Secretary as Head of International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Members of the Sub-Committee as the Representatives of the departmental or equivalent level of the Ministries of Science and Technology, Public Security, Health, Industry and Trade, Education and Training, Natural Resources and Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Defense, Construction and the Assisting Section of the Sub-Committee including the members from the above mentioned ministries.
The Ministry of Science and Technology as the presiding agency of the Sub-Committee is responsible for ensuring the conditions for activities of the Sub-Committee, using its existing apparatus to carry out the tasks of the Sub-Committee.
