Prime Minister has agreed on policy to invest a 100MW wind power project in Ca Mau

Khai Long 100MW wind power plant will be developed on a 2,165 ha earth and sea surface area at Khai Long hamlet, Dat Mui Commune, Ngoc Hien district, Ca Mau in 2016-2018 period.
To implement the project, PM assigned Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) as the main responsible agency in collaboration with the Ca Mau Provincial People Committee to guide the investor in implementing the steps related to formulation, appraisal and approval of feasibility study report for project investment and development in accordance with the current regulations. MoIT is also required to report PM for deciding electricity tariff after an accuracy of the project investment total level so that it not exceeded the tariff applied for the similar projects already developed on the sea coast.
PM assigned Ministry of Finance and Vietnam Development Bank to appraise the loan plans of the investor in accordance with current regulations and report the PM for consideration and decision the cases beyond their competence.
According to Ca Mau Department of Planning and Investment, the total design capacity of the whole project (all phases) would be 300 MW with 150 wind turbines installed on towers distributed on a 7,000ha area. Beside, the project also requires a 20ha area for the transformer substations and operation house.
Khai Long wind farm is a large project under the clean energy development program agreed with industrialized and modernized conditions and adapted to situations of the climate change and sea level rise.
