The first wind power projects in Soc Trang province have started the power generation

 - The first wind power plants in Soc Trang province, including Lac Hoa wind power, Quoc Vinh wind power and wind power No. 7 have just been closed by the Southern Power System Dispatch Center (A2) and the investors have successful energizing.

The first 3 wind power projects in Soc Trang province are as follows:

- Lac Hoa project with a capacity of 30 MW and an average generation of 93 GWh on an onshore area of 5.6 ha in Vinh Chau town, invested by Vinh Chau – TDC Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company with an investment of 1,300 billion VND; The project includes 6 wind turbines by 5.3 MW each, 22 kV double line for collecting capacities of 6 wind turbines to 22/110 kV step-up 40 MVA transformer at 110 kV Vinh Chau substation for synchronizing to the national power system.

- Quoc Vinh project (the project No.6) – with the first phase capacity of 30 MW, annual average generation of 95 GWh, developed on an onshore area of 7.5 ha, also in Vinh Chau town, invested by Soc Trang Quoc Vinh Wind Power Company Ltd. with an investment of 1,420 billion VND. Quoc Vinh project also includes 6 wind turbines (6x5.3 MW), 22 kV double line for connecting capacities of wind power turbines to step-up 40 MVA transformer and 110kV double line to Soc Trang wind power project No7 for synchronizing to the national power system at 110 kV Vinh Chau transformer substation.

-Soc Trang Wind power project No 7 with the first phase capacity of 30 MW annual average generation of 108 GWh, developed on an offshore area of 3,100 ha (for the two phases) in Vinh Chau town, invested by Soc Trang Energy Joint Stock Company and Xuan Cau Company Ltd. with an investment of 1,500 billion VND. The project includes 7 wind turbines by 4.2 MW each, 22 kV double line for connecting capacities of the wind power turbines to 22/110 kV step-up transformer 40 MVA and a 110 kV double line with a length of 50 meters to connect with 110 kV of wind power project No6.

Soc Trang has a sea coast with a length of 72 km. At present, in the province, there are 21 wind power projects in priority for attracted investment being implemented.
