Starting up to construct Soc Trang 3 Wind Power Project (phase 1)

- February 22, 2020, in Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang province, BPP Vinh Chau Wind Power Co., Ltd. (Banbu Energy Group - Thailand) has started the first phase of Soc Trang 3 Wind Power Project (WPP).

Soc Trang 3 WPP developed in Vinh Phuoc ward, Soc Trang city with a total capacity of 65 MW. The first phase of the project with a capacity of 29.4 MW including 7 wind turbines by 4.2 MW each provided by Siemens Gamesa – a leading supplier of wind turbines over the world and average electricity output of 84.7 GWh per year, has a total investment of 1,365 billion VND.
According to the power development planning to 2030, Soc Trang will develop 22 wind farms with a total capacity of 1400 MW on a total area of 37 thousand ha. At present, in Soc Trang there 3 WPPs are constructing.
