Unit No 1 of Song Bung 4 HP has been synchronized with the National Power System

The total installed capacity of Song Bung 4 HP is 156MW with two units (78MWx2) and a 586.25 million kWh average annual electricity output. The Song Bung 4 HP is a project of group A under the hydropower system planning of Vu Gia - Thu Bon river basin.
Power Generation Corporation 2 (EVNGENCO2) is the investor of the project and Song Bung 4 Hydropower Management Board is representative of the investor for project management. The project implementation was started in June 2010 and is expected to be complete in time at Quarter 4, 2014.
The synchronizing the unit No1 of Song Bung 4 HP with the National Power System has contributed to supplementing power capacity to the National Power System and strengthening electricity supply for the South. Besides, the project also has an important role in regulating reduce flood for downstream in flood season; at the same time, with a 63 cubic meters per second steady flow through the turbines, the project contributes to shove salty water, provides water for irrigation and the people’s living in the downstream of the Vu Gia -Thu Bon river basin, especially in Quang Nam province and Da Nang city areas.
The event has also a significant meaning in making achievements to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Traditional Day of Vietnam Electricity Industry (12/21/1954 - 21 / 12/2014).
