Signing contract for geological survey of La Gan offshore wind power project

 - La Gan Wind Power Project Development Joint Stock Company - the developer of La Gan offshore wind farm project owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Asiapetro and Novasia, signed with the Northern Regional Center for Marine Environmental and Natural Resources Planning and Investigation (CPIM) two contracts as the contract for geophysical survey and the contract for geological research of 3.5 GW La Gan offshore wind power project. The signing ceremony was conducted online to ensure safety in the recent development of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The geophysical survey and research are the key works to help understand the condition of the seabed and stimulate the   activities for developing models of the earth face and the designs of foundation.

CPIM will cooperate with the Danish subcontractors as Danish  Geological Survey Department and Greenland (GEUS) under the Danish Ministry of Energy, Infrastructure and Climate to carry out these two contracts.

The signing ceremony was conducted online to ensure safety in the recent development of the Covid-19 epidemic.

According to the La Gan Geophysical Survey Contract, CPIM and GEUS will work closely to collect hydrological data and seabed sediment samples to determine depth, seafloor characteristics and bottom geology.

Under the La Gan Geological Research Contract, CPIM and GEUS will also conduct assessing the marine geological conditions, organisms and use of marine resources. These assessments will provide essential inputs for offshore wind farm development.

Danish Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Kim H. Christensen said: As one of the countries that has long accompanied and supported Vietnam in the transformation to green and sustainable energy industry, Denmark wants the Vietnam National Power  Development Planning for the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2045 (PDP VIII) to be approved soon
