Groundbreaking the project for the coal survey on Red River Delta

According to Vinacomin, the project for coal survey on Red River Delta basin with a surveying scale of 5.29 km2 area, surveying depth of up to – 1200 m and total drilling length of 19.650 m, has been licensed for survey by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The project with an area of 3.500 km2 on Hanoi sunken region spreads from Viet Tri (Phu Tho) to Tien Hai (Thai Binh)
The project will be implemented in two stages as the stage 1 for construction on the scene implemented by the Vinacomin Mining Geology Company in 24 months from 9/2015 to 9/2017 and the stage 2 for synthetizing survey results, setting up geological report and submitting for approval at the National Reserves Council from 9/2018 to 3/2019.
The aim of the project is to define the stratum structure, reserve and quality of the coal, as well as the characteristics of the geological and technical conditions of minerals to have the bases for making the pilot projects of technology and exploitation, and coming to invest development at an industrial scale.
According to the plan, the experts and technicians will take over 500, 300, and 240 samples of the coal, rock and gas respectively for analyzing the characteristics of coal and rock under the different technical standards.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Cao Quoc Hung said, in the conditions, when northeast coal mines getting more and more deep and far development, the mobilization to explore and exploit coal basin on Red River Delta in accordance with the Coal Industry Development Planning in Vietnam to 2020, taking into account prospect to 2030 approved by the Prime Minister to meet the coal demand of domestic economic sectors serve the coal is very necessary and important. The resource potential of the project is very large as about 210 billion tons of the Abitum coal.
"The project is a premise that opens the opportunities for socio-economic development of Thai Binh province in particular and the country in general", Mr. Cao Quoc Hung stressed
The Deputy Minister Hung also asked the Thai Binh PPC, localities and relevant organizations to facilitate help to Vinacomin to favorably implement the project and complete it in time.
