The Hoa Phat Dung Quat PPP has been added into the Power Development planning

 - The Prime Minister has approved in writing document the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) on adjusting and supplementing the Hoa Phat Dung Quat PPP into the National Power Development Planning in the 2011-2020 period, with a vision to 2030.

 

The project with a capacity of 4x60 MW is located in the planning area of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Complex.

As planned, the project will be developed in synchronization with two phases of Steel Complex and directly supply electricity to the complex (2018 - 2019) without connection with the National Power System.

The PM also approved to adjust schedule for increasing the capacity of Doc Soi 500 kV transformer substation by installing the second transformer with a capacity of 600 MVA putting into operation by 2019. At the same time, the capacity of  Dung Quat 220 kV transformer substation will be also adjusted by increasing to 2x250 MVA with  installing a transformer by 2018 in synchronization with the first phase of the Steel Complex and the second transformer by 2019 in synchronization with the second ; phase of the Steel Complex.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to chair and coordinate with Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee and concerned agencies in guiding the process of investment preparation and investment in t constructing projects in accordance with the current regulations on construction investment, land, quality management and environmental protection.

The Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Complex project with a total investment of about VND 52,000 billion belonged to Hoa Phat Qung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company was started for construction in August 2017. The Hoa Binh Construction Group is the general contractor for designing and constructing the important major works such as raw material processing, coke refinery workshops, office building, blast furnace and power plant.
