Withdrawing the Duyen Hai wind power project (Tra Vinh province)

 - Tra Vinh provincial People's Committee (PPC) has just signed the official correspondence to request the termination of development of Duyen Hai wind power project (in Dong Hai commune, Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province) with the reason of "delayed progress".

Duyen Hai wind power project with a capacity of 48.3 MW and annual average power output of 135,200 MWh, invested by Asian Energy Corporation and Uniso Group (Korea).  The Certificate of investment registration of the project was provided by Tra Vinh PPC on June 9, 2017.

The total capital of the project is more than VND 2,839.6 billion (of which loans account for 80% ).

The project includes: 21 wind turbines with 21 foundations, 10 km of 22kV three-phase underground cable, a 110 kV overhead transmission line, a 22/110kV step-up transformer substation with a capacity of 63 MVA, an operative management building, and an equipment warehousing storage.

The project expected to be put into operation in December 2019. However, since the date of accepting the Certificate of investment registration up to now (15 months), the investor has just carried out only the    wind measurements, other contents has not been implemented yet.

According to the plan for wind power development of Tra Vinh province to 2020, with the consideration to 2030 approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the province has six wind power projects in 6 coastal  accretion zones of Duyen Hai district and Duyen Hai town. There are 03 projects in Truong Long Hoa commune, 02 projects in Hiep Thanh commune and 01 project in Dong Hai commune. So, the total capacity of the wind power projects in Tra Vinh province to 2020 will be about 270 MW with an annual average our-put of  634 million kWh.
