Previously, in order to solve inventory of the coal industry, after balancing the domestic demand, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) had a petition to the Government for allowing Vinacomin and NCC to export 2 million tons of coal more in 2015.
According to calculations of MoIT, the comercial coal outputs of the coal industry estimated 40.03 million tons in 2015, 43.77 million tons in 2016, 50.38 million tons in 2020 and 57.49 million tons in 2030. Among that the coal types satisfying the standard (from coal dust No4 down) for power generation reach 60-95%.
To compare with the consumption demand by calculation of MoIT, the coal surplus is 3.5 million tons in 2015 and 2.0 million in 2016
