Vinacomin focuses on coal mining

Vinacomin also said as in the first quarter of 2019 the group has exploited 10.79 million tons of raw coal equal to 27% of the year plan, 112% in comparison with the amount in the same period of the last year; sold 10.5 million tons as 25% year plan and 110% of the amount of the same period of the last year.
Besides, Vinacomin has produced 322,892 tons of equivalent alumina and sold 344,224 tons; 17,832 tons of copper fine ore; 2,827 tons of copper plates; 3,110 tons of zinc; 17,760 tons of industrial explosives and sold 26,800 tons; 35,615 tons of ammonium nitrate and sold 30,220 tons; and generated 2.6 billion kWh.
As a result, the turnover of the Vinacomin in the first quarter of 2019 is estimated 31,218 billion VND equal to 24.4% of year plan and 102.8% of the turnover in the same period of 2018.
In order to achieve the plan of exploiting 4 million tons of raw coal and selling 4 million tons in April, Vinacomin General Director Dang Thanh Hai requested the units to concentrate to exploit raw coal at the highest level with striving to exceed 4 million tons; focus on mixing imported coal with a maximal rate of 32-42% and domestic coal to guarantee coal sources for the EVN thermal power plants which have signed the contracts to use the mixing imported and domestic coal of Vinacomin; and at the same time to rearrange port warehouses for satisfying the business tasks of the Group...
The Vinacomin General Director also required to focus on promoting the production of major mineral products such as alumina, copper, zinc and rough steel (at the present the prices of these products are high); and on solving difficulties for Co Dinh - Thanh Hoa Chromium, Cam Pha thermal power and Khe Cham coal company projects.
The units must actively and closely coordinate with the local authorities to strengthen inspection, control and protection of the natural resources within the licensed boundary and resource management boundaries, resolutely resist against coal loss from within the mine, tighten the management of up-stream coal and strictly implement the Directive No. 21/CT-Tg dated at August 26, 2015 of Prime Minister on enhancing the state management for coal production and business activities.
